I enjoyed a successful Silver Dagger Tour with Fatal Decision at the end of August, and I’m planning another Virtual Book Tour with The Olympus Project sometime in October. I’ve already joined a Subscriber Surge Giveaway for the same title with Written Word Media. (The 60-day voyage begins on the 1st Oct.)
This weekend another Facebook Ad campaign begins – for The Phoenix Series – and most of my efforts in September will be focused on finding new Phoenix Club Members, and more sales of books I’ve already written.
The new series has had to be put on hold. I’ve hit a couple of stumbling blocks. After obtaining the perfect cover for the first book, I found decent options for three of the remaining five and then for the past three months… nothing. I don’t want to publish #1 until I’m in possession of six covers that match the genre, and particular title, from the six-book series. Books two and three are the major sticking point.
Second-best isn’t good enough, even for a modest story teller like me. It’s impossible not to attempt to make the next book better than the last, and as I’m planning a new series, with characters I don’t know very well yet, it’s a daunting prospect. One where I feel book #1 has to be the best book I’ve ever written. No pressure then!
