Three little words can be so important, can’t they?

My wife, Lynne, has been recovering slowly after an operation. The tumour removed from her kidney five weeks ago was cancerous, as suspected, but the surgeon was confident he’d got it all and told her last week that ‘no further action’ was necessary. Lynne will need to have periodic check-ups, but that’s far better news than we feared.

It’s high time for news on book-related items:

There’s no pressure on me from Vinci Books to add new titles to my current catalogue, but I’ve got an itch I need to scratch. Gus will be back in business for a short run of cold cases, and now I can concentrate on writing again I’m eager to get started…

Gus Freeman watched the weather forecast and smiled at the impending snowstorm. Crime levels deopped through the floor when temperatures flirted with zero degrees. Life became easier for the country copper. People stayed indoors, which meant muggers were out of business, and fewer empty houses were asking to be burgled. The traffic boys were the only ones who bucked the downward trend. They were kept on their toes by members of the criminal fraternity who decided it was too cold to walk home, so they’d nick a car parked outside a home where the occupier thought it a good idea to leave the motor running to defrost the windscreen.

The next post will feature the latest news on promotions and special offers, with an update on progress on the next book.
